The Classic Bow Flat

The bow flat is just one of those classic items that is so versatile. You can dress it up, you can dress it down - it goes with just about anything you have in your closet. I have been on the hunt for the perfect nude colored, pointy toe bow flat for a few months now.  The beloved Me Too "Patty" Flat was completely sold out and showing no signs of returning (or so I thought), and I was finding nothing similar enough for my liking. I was so excited when I got my J.Crew Factory First email and discovered the J.Crew Factory Emery Flats!  I HAD to have them right away! They were exactly what I was looking for, and I was CERTAIN that they would be gone FAST. Well, first of all, they are not gone. In fact, they are now on sale at a price cheaper than I paid for them. Second of all, I found out shortly after I received them that the Me Too "Patty" Flat had been spotted at Nordstrom Rack (thanks to my awesome Instagram friend @jmaggies)!  I guess when it rains, it pours (does that apply to shoe shopping?).  I visited my local Nordstrom Rack and found them right away for $39.97 (original price $89) - less than half the cost of the J.Crew version I had just purchased! Even better, I noticed that they had them in just about every size, including multiple in my size. I bought them, of course, and now had to decide which to keep.

The general consensus has been that the Me Too version is more comfortable and that the J.Crew Factory version takes some serious breaking in. I love the patent look of the J.Crew Factory flat, but ultimately, the Me Too version is just as cute and a much better price. I returned the J.Crew Factory pair and will keep the Me Too "Patty." Of course, I also found out that Banana Republic Factory store has a similar pair.  I peaked in when I was returning the J.Crew pair and saw them for $30, but a friend of mine recently purchased them for $15! Such a steal! All in all, there are options for the nude, pointy toe bow flat. Check your local Nordstrom Rack or Banana Republic Factory store for a more budget-friendly version.

So, I finally have my perfect nude colored, pointy toe bow flat. Now, if only the snow would melt and it would warm up a bit, then I could wear them! Which would you have chosen?
